Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who has achieved great fame with the stories she tells of her young heartbreak. Swift developed an interest for music as a child and soon progressed from performing in children's shows to making her debut in public. Swift started writing songs when she was 11. She performed The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Swift took inspiration from artists from the country genre, such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks in order to write original music that reflected the loneliness she experienced by 13. Swift's parents relocated her to Tennessee at 13 after selling their Pennsylvania farm. It gave Swift to be more active in courting labels for the country genre in Nashville.
